SF Crunchies!

So, it was my first time going to San Francisco this past weekend. I went in order to attend The Crunchies. The Crunchies is an annual gala event for Web Startups everywhere. It was hosted by TechCrunch, GigaOm, Read/Write Web and VentureBeat.

It was a great ceremony, with lots of cool stuff and humor. The after party was awesome as well, some big name attendees include, Jeremy Schoemaker of Shoemoney, MC Hammer(yes, it's hammertime), Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Kevin Rose of Digg, and many more.

I had the opportunity to meet alot of great people, including people from the Y Combinator community, in particular, Gabor Cselle, from Xobni. I finally met Mark Hendrickson from TechCrunch, a really cool dude. I also had the opportunity to meet the guys from UpNext, Jason Nazar from DocStoc and the guy who runs StartUp Schwag, Roddy Richards.

Overall I had alot of fun and hope there is another event like this in the near future. As a developer San Francisco is mecca.

In the following days, me and my girlfriend (who is really awesome btw), hung out with her cousins. We all went out and had some fun at a candy store and playing with the seals or sea lions or whatever...

We went back and had an awesome family dinner.

I got to see alot of SF this time around, including Herbst Theatre, Pier 39 and the Metreon. I haven't bought my next ticket but I will be getting asap. I want to come back and see alot more of San Francisco.

In other news, I built my first 'Online Business Card', Rememberthisguy.com. I didn't have the
opportunity to get business cards printed up, so I had to get creative so people would remember me. It's a really simple site with just a little bit of information on how you can contact me or see what's going on.

Check it out: Rememberthisguy.com

Lastly, I just wanted to announce that I am working on a project by the name of 'RemindsYou'. I will be looking for 100 people to be alpha testers immediately. RemindsYou will be a web application that is, very simply, "To-Do Lists on Steroids".

You'll be able to:
-Add all sorts of events/tasks to your to-do lists
-Get reminded about what's coming up and what needs to be done now
-Subscribe to an RSS feed of your to-do's
-Add a Google Gadget that works alot like the web application
-Update your to-do lists from your Blackberry,iPhone or any mobile browser
-Alot more

We are due for launch in like 1-2 weeks so I'll keep you updated.

Cheers,
Auston
